What do you think? Share your opinion! #1

Well guys, we are almost finished reading Christmas Jars, and it is my *hope* that you have enjoyed it as much as I have. The story certainly gives a person much to think about and ponder on long after it's over. In fact, there are a few questions that I have, and I would love to hear what you think about them.

Please pick one and let me know what you think. Here goes...

1) Who do you think deserves to receive a Christmas jar the most? Why?
2) Is it better to give gifts or to receive gifts? Why?
3) Is it ever right to do something wrong? Why?

I can't wait to hear what you have to say!
Love,
Mrs. H

picked the first question to answer. I think the person that deserves the Christmas jar is a homeless person off the streets. Because they don’t have any money and they deserve to have a good Christmas too and it’s just not fair that a lot of people get to have a great Christmas but then again a lot of poor people don’t get to have a Christmas at all. They just spend there Christmas on the cold grounds of t he streets and it’s just really sad.

Mrs. Halterman ,
I pick question number 1, I think my dearest friend Linda Wilder should have been in the book, because she has been a great friend and she deserves a Christmas Jar!! She’s always been there for me and I can tell her anything and I know she will not tell anyone! Well I hope you are feeling better Mrs.Halterman, I hope you can come back soon.

I chose to do number 2. I think its better to give gifts then to receive them. My grandparents always told “me to give gifts instead of to receive them.” I gave some gifts to homeless people and some money to poor people. I hade a warm and fuzzy feeling in my tummy after that.

It is important to give gifts than to receive then it show that you care about them. They will also be grateful that you gave something for the holidays. Here is a example last year I gave my mom a gift she was very grateful. She liked it I will never forget it the look on her face it was priceless. That is why it more important to give gifts than to receive them.

Hey Mrs.Halterman, I think that it is better to give the gifts instead of receiving them, just like in “Cristmas Jars.” #1is that other people need them even more than you.#2 peopl might appreciate that you care about them.#3 it’s just the rite thing to do.
That’s why it is more important to give the gifts.

I picked the first question to answer. I think she should have gave it to a homeless person. So the homeless person will be inspired and when the homeless person has a house and a job the person can give a Christmas jar away. The person he gave it to can do the samething and then the whole world can be inspired by the first Christmas jar that had ever been handed out.

Hi Mrs. Halerman I hope you can come back soon.

Dear Mrs. Halterman, I think its better to give gifts so people will think that you carries about them. It makes you feel better about yourself. But some people would want to get gifts on the holidays.

I think it is better to give gifts than to receive gifts. Because I like to see the look on peoples faces. For example two years ago I made my mom a paper holder that I made for her and I liked looking at her face that morning. It made me feel pretty goooooooooood.

I am choosing number one. I think Whitney Pence, (My best Friend) deserves the Christmas jar. She is really awesome and is very very respectful. She is always there for people and loves to laugh. Anyone who is caring like her deserves a Christmas jar!! Well, Mrs. Halterman I hope you feel a lot better and get to school soon.
-Linda

Hi Mrs.Halterman I think that to give a gift is a good thing because you give a gift to someone that maybe don’t get gifts at Christmas time. And to do that well probably make someone’s day. I hope your leg is getting
Better! anthony

I think the person who deserves the Christmas jar is a homeless person. The reason I think that is because they don’t have much money or no shelter or food and they need food to live. People who have homes have some money even if its not much. But homeless people don’t have any money or at least not much at all. That’s the reason I think homeless people deserve the Christmas jar.

I picked the question that says is it ever right to do something wrong. I think that some times it is right to something wrong. I think that because maybe someone you know lost something and your other friend really stole it and they told you not to tell her but you did anyway. Here is another example if your friend changed your grades on the computer at school and then when you got your report card you had all A’s and they made you swear not to tell but you had to and you did. GET WELL SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think my mom deserves a Christmas jar because she doesn’t have a job any more . I hate that they had to tell her that right before Christmas. Now that she don’t have a job any more she has to watch her money. So I think she get a Christmas jar so she can have money to get me things for Christmas.

Hi Mrs. Halterman how are you. I am answering question number two. It feels good to give a gift, because it feels good inside to give a gift to a poor person. You are showing you’re Christmas spirit .It is receiving good gifts because it can change your life and you will probably keep the present.

No it’s not good to do something wrong. But we all do at least 1 thing wrong. I did 1 thing wrong that I wished I never did was that I never turned in my homework on time and so that I got a fowl for it but I turned it in the next day. I can’t wait till you to come back.

I think that giving gifts is better than receiving gifts because it will make others happy
And it can make yourself feel good about it . Some kids are more fourtainate than others.

I picked the first one because homeless people don't really have money to buy christmas presents for people and they should have a good christmas because there is a lot of homeless people who don't have christmas. And thats why I think it's good to give people christmas jars.

I picked number 1 i think the person should get the christmas jar cause it could be some pore person that needs money. because i think they should have a good christmas if we get to have a good one because they are pore and never get do anything fun for christmas, they usually have to spend there christmas on the cold ground beside the streets i think thats sad.

2) I like giving gifts more than receiving gifts it makes me fell good when I give gifts. People forget the real meaning of Christmas. The real meaning of Christmas is about giving not receiving.

Hey Mrs. Halterman. I miss you! I think the Maxwells deserve a Christmas jar because they have done a lot for people. And because they gave out Christmas jars way before adam died so that was really nice of them. But I also think they deserve one because they took back her trust after she lied to them about her age and how she was still in collage and she was a student. Its been nice bloging you. Hopefully you have a nice Christmas break. Come back soon 8)

Dear Mrs,Halterman
The person I think who deszerved was the old man who smelled. He really needed it than anay one. Like Hope when she was robed and found the Christmas jar out side her door. So it’s like the old man. It’s like they both needed it the most to spead Christmas joy around in there lives. So that is why it’s good to spread around the Christmas chear. Well I got one quston for you, what kind of card do you what. A Christmas tree on the front or a Christmas jar like the story?
MERRY CHRISTMAS Mrs ,H

I chose question #1 because I think most of the poor people should get Christmas Jars. But some poor people need don’t need Christmas Jars be because of some thing they did if they did some thing bad. And most people need more then I do.

I know some one I can give a Christmas jar to. I can give one to my grandma because she can’t get out of her house as much and she would like getting more money for Christmas. She can’t get out of her house because of her back. She can give it to my mom to buy gifts for her.

morgan said...

I picked number 3.I think that it isn't every ones right to no what happens because someone could tell somebody a secert and if they told someone they shouldn't trust them anymore cause they could get you in trouble and you could lose a friend thats what I think.

Hey Mrs.Halterman. I think the Maxwells family deserve the Christmas jars because they use to give people Christmas jar
And because they were really nice to the people

Hey, Mrs. Halterman. I really miss you! I choose number 1, I think that the Maxwells deserve the Christmas Jars because they are the ones that started doing them and because they are nice to everyone…They also deserve one because they took hopes trust back after everything hope lied about and they took her back.

lori said...

Hey Mrs. Halterman I would give the Maxwell family a Christmas jar. They dissorves it because they secretly gave Christmas jars to people that needed it. That’s why I would give them a Christmas jar. For all the good deeds that they did like when hopes house got torn apart.

Wow! All of these are such great answers. You all are the best! I can't wait to come back - it certainly won't be as long as it has been. How many of you have started Christmas Jars to give away?

I personally think it's better to give gifts because it shows that you care about them and there feelings, and because it might be a matter of life and death. I like getting gifts, but it's also good to know it's coming from the heart.

It is some times ok to do wrong thing because no body is perfect and that nobody will ever do everything right. So its ok to do things wrong but if you do it on purpose then it is not ok to do it.
