Since you have been working with the strategy "Somebody Wanted But So" (SWBS) recently to help you with writing summaries, I thought I'd ask you to use those skills for responding to this week's blog.
Using SWBS and the book you are independently reading, write me a short summary of what's happened so far. You might want to write out your SWBS statements beforehand and then put them together into a summary before you attempt to post on the blog...just a suggestion! Remember to first put your summary into an Appleworks or Word document, be sure to save, then copy and paste it into the comment window on the blog.

Hey Mrs. Halterman, What are you up to? When I found out what happened to you I wanted to cry. But, I wasn’t so happy when I didn’t see you in school the next day like I had hoped. So I just kind of had to hang in there. I’m reading a book called escaping into the night. The book is about a girl, her best friend, and the brothers trying to escape out of the ghetto and even more important the Nazi’s. The Nazi’s ran that town like mad men, well they were. So they are finally out of the ghetto and happy but the other brothers that they were trying to escape to. Now the three other brothers and Bayta the girls best friend were missing and they got worried. That’s my book , fell better and get back in school! ☺

Here is a summary of the book I am reading, Alcatraz. In Alcatraz these people start building a prison called Alcatraz. Alcatraz is an island about one and a half miles away from land of California. and even the toughest prisoners could not escape and at the end the prisoners ruled for forty-eight hours until the U.S Marines showed up.

Hey Mrs. Halterman I hope your feeling a lot better so here’s a summery about the book im reading! It’s called in search of mocking bird. Scout wanted to go to Washington to meet a reader to give a letter to her from her mother but her mother had past away so she wanted to make it a book. So scout wrote a letter telling her dad that she was leaving to go to Washington to meet the writer and that not to worry she will be okay, and that she will call him and her brother in the morning to check up on them. But when she got there the reader wasn’t there so she traveled that far for nothing.she was devastated, and that’s all I really got to read so far. I cant wait tell you get back! Hope you feel better.

But he as to do it before is dad goes away on a ship by force. So he needs to get out of jail to do that

Here is a book that I read and this is what called ,Rescue A Police Story.This book is about two men robbing a bank and police are trying to stop them without anyone getting hurt.So one police officer uses a FlashBang to confuse the robbers and save the hostages and take robbers to jail. But the robbers try to get away in a car ,but the didn’t get to far.So they coght and whent to prison for a long time...

The lighting theif is about a boy named Percy Jackson.Since he started to go to Yancy Academy theres been nothng but trouble.The teachers are mean the kids a mean too.When the class gose on a feild trip to a museum. Percy was going to try and be a good kid and not get exspelled again if he got exspelled again he wouldn’t be aloud in any of the schools again.When a girl named Nancy get Percy in trouble Mrs.Dodds tells him to come with her.When he finds her she turns into a monster.When Mr.Brunner throws a pen to Percy it turns to a sword, and Percy slays the monster and when he gose outside he gave the pen back to Mr.Brunner. I hope u feel better Mrs.Halterman :)
Hey Mrs.Halterman, Here’s something about a book that I’m reading a boy wanted his parents to come back from the war but he was living his grand parents. He has to go everywhere with them and he can’t wait for his parents to come back. They might go somewhere and not come back to see his parents when they come back from the war.

I love to blog, so I think this assignment is great.
I am reading a non-fiction book called the essentials of vocabulary. Sound interesting? It is. It is an compilation of articles on the benefits of word study and contains great strategies on how to teach students vocabulary words and skills. We used one of the strategies in class this week regarding compound words. It was fun.

The book I’m reading now is Kidnapped the 2nd book. The title is The Search and the Author is Gordon Korman. Meg and Aiden were on the way home from school one day and a van pulled up. Three people get out of it and they kidnapped Meg Aiden tried to catch them but he couldn’t. So Aiden found a phone and called the police they said they would try to find her. When he got home there were a lot of people at his house. Meg has now been kidnapped for about a week and the only evidence they found was a note from Meg. The police are still searching for her but no one has seen her yet.

I am just getting to the part what happened to the baby the night the baby got sick. But the docters figure out maybe its just the stomach flu. Rikki Tikki Tavi is about, Teddy and his family wanted to keep Rikki Tikki Tavi for protection and to keep them safe.
But, the mother was scared of Rikki Tikki Tavi. So Rkki Tikki Tavi killed Nag and saved the family.
Another character is Nag, he wanted to kill Rikki Tikki Tavi and the family, but Rikki Tikki killed Nag before anybody got hurt. So Nagaina wanted to kill Rikki Tikki and his family, so Rikki Tikki Tavi stole her eggs and killed her. Rikki Tikki Tavi wanted to keep his family safe from any danger, and he did so.

Dear Mrs.Halterman, The Rikki Tikki is about a mongoose that gets raised and killed 3 different snakes. Rikki Tikki kills Nagainas eggs witch are Nags, the cobra, and RIikki Tikki kills them all after words he gets loved by his family. Rikki Tikki saved his family from the poisiness snakes.
