This past Friday we were blessed to have our friend and esteemed author, Jason Wright, visit our school and talk to our classes. I think if I took a poll right now, we would all vote him the "Most Entertaining" speaker ever! He arrived brimming with stories to share - and what stories! Oh, my! Will we ever be able to enter a donut shop again without images of "basketball donuts" crossing our minds? Or what about the midnight motorized cart races, Pizzamobiles, and the mall Easter Bunny suit? (The secret about its smell is out!) Hilarious! We were glued to our seats for over an hour - an hour that seemed like mere minutes. None of us would have experienced any trouble sitting for the remainder of the afternoon just listening and enjoying our guest. However, and perhaps most important, we will take the message behind all of Jason's stories with us. We can follow our dreams, and we can keep on trying even when things don't turn out the way we think they should. I think each one of us left the library on Friday feeling a little more lighthearted and hopeful about the future.What a kind and generous guy Jason is too! A personally autographed copy of "A Christmas Jar for Santa" for everyone! We certainly weren't expecting that. That's a gift, in addition to our memories, that we'll cherish forever. Thanks, Jason...you're the best!

Dear Jason I liked it the hole time you were here I loved the stories you told they were funny and I went home and told my mom about it. She also liked it and is reading Christmas Jars and likes it so far. I will remember all of the jobs that you had and the funny storys that go along with them especially the cart one. I would just like you to know that I watched troll 2 and it is dumb but I saw it before on TV but I raised my left hand instead of my right.

I really enjoyed you telling us about your other jobs and the thrilling stories behind them they were rather interesting. I really liked you telling us about when you were 12 and you wrote a book and sent it, and then it got turned down that really caught my eye and as you told more about it I kept saying to myself why did he just give up on writing just because one place turns down his book he should have worked harder on it correct it, reread it, and then get other peoples opinion on the book then he should have sent it in again if it got turned down again then he should have tried writing another book. When you were writing your books what will you remember? The agony of when your book was going to be published, the end of the pencil chewing, the many head aches while trying to figure out what will your character do next or what should you write next, what will people think of my book will they like it? Your books are amazing my mom and former teacher tell me to either be a writer but I don’t know if I would do that because of the way you get paid I don’t really know.
I enjoyed the stories about what you did and then messed up. Plus they were really funny! I remember when you told us about your jobs and how you got fired. Plus I also remember when you told us about when you made a christmas jar and put it on the front porch of a friends house. That was also funny. I would like you to know that I have a sister and she is married and has a 2 year old daughter, Sway-Nichole. My grandpa and dad works in North Carolina. My mom works at a nursing home. My grandma has two dogs and one fish. And then I have Three cats.

I mostly enjoyed the funny stories, about the jobs and the thing I liked was when you were talking about driving the cart around that one job you had. I feel sorry for you when had to wear the bunny suit. I’m sure that it smelled really bad when you put it on. You are a very funny person,and I’m sure all of us would want you to come back! I thought it was pretty cool when you handed out the stories to all of us.
Im sorry i could not make it because i was sick. I beat it was great. i wish i was there when you gave the speech . Everybody said it was really good from what i herd. I wished i did not miss your speech.

I thank you for coming to our school. The things that I enjoyed was when you told us was all the different jobs you have had and all the funny things you did at your jobs. I will remember when you was going around checking all the different places in the cell phone factory and you saw a closet and you went in to the closet and you saw one of them grocery cart scooters and you unplugged it and drove around the factory and you would get fast every time you would go around the factory. Hope that you visit us soon.

You get free ice cream and you also get paid. When are you thinking of visiting again? I told my parents all the stories you told us they cracked up when they heard them. Thank you all SO MUCH for being such a fun group. I've done A LOT of schools around the country, but you were the ONLY ONES to get that presentation. Believe it or not I've NEVER told the cart and telephone factory story to another school. But you guys were worth it!
