I have read some of the Hardy Boy mysteries, Justin, and you don't have to convince me that they're good! Remember, I'm Nancy Drew's biggest fan!

I finished reading “all the broken pieces” by Ann E. Burg. She makes you feel like you don’t want to stop reading. It is during the Vietnam war. She makes you feel like you are a character in the book.

I read R.L. Stine's book "The Haunted School." This book is not as scary as a horror movie, but it is creepy. It talks about two different worlds a black and gray world and a color world or real world. The class of 1947 got to the class room when the photographer took their picture then they went to the black and gray world.

Mrs. Halterman said...

Sean, it sounds like a really good book! I love books where the characters seem so real they could come to life!

Makayla, I don't know about me reading books like that one! I'm such a wimp, I probably would have nightmares! I'm glad you liked it though!

I like the magic treehouse books because I like mysteries. Jack and Annie go to different places by pointing to a picture in their book and wishing to go there. In this book they went to a forest in India. I wish I had a magic treehouse.

Mrs. Halterman said...

Which Magic Treehouse book was it Makayla? Don't forget to mention the author who wrote the book too. Then others can be sure to find the book if they're interested!

The book that i am reading right now is Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The part that i am at right now is when the gong rings and all the career tributes have secured the cornucopia for themselves. Right now Katiness is on the move in the forest.she is looking for a safe spot to hide.I would recommend Hunger Games to people of all ages right now because it is an easy read. Also there has been no violence that has been described more than "they were kill" right now. You should read it if you have not!

I'm reading the book War Horse right now by Michael Morpurgo. It's extremely amazing even though it's just giving the horses point of view. So far Joey and Topthorn's owner gave them to a stable where they won't be used as war horses, instead they'll be treated far much better than what they have. They're learning how to pull a cart,Joey has already done this so he is trying to help Topthorn. They're learning how to pull a cart because they will be hauling the sick and dead people to the hospital or wherever the dead people may have to be going.

Mrs. Halterman said...

It sounds really good Jodi especially since it's from a horse's point of view. Does it take place during the Civil War? For some reason I got the impression that it does.
When you finish, you'll have to let me know what you thought of the book overall.

The book i'm reading is Ninth Grade Slays by the author Heather Brewer. My thoughts about the book were fantastic. It contained a good storyline and a very good vocabulary. It's about a 14 year old teen named Vladmir Tod,he goes to Siberia with his uncle Otis to pratice his supernatural powers. When he comes back he faces a vampire slayer. I'm looking foward to reading more of Heather Brewer's vampire series.

I like Judy Moody because she is mean to her brother. I sometimes like to be mean to my brother too. She sometimes gets in trouble just like me.

Right now I am reading crack back by john coy.the book is good because it has a lot of suspension and leaves you hanging.the reason is you just can't take in as as much information at once.the author makes it boring for a while and all of the sudden a lot of action comes at once.I really recommend it.it should have a higher star level.

I am reading "The Missing Chums". It is super hilarious. Frank and Joe just got their costumes and before going in their house they put on the masks. When she opened the door she slammed the door with such might you would thought of it as an earth- quake. At least that's how I imaged it.They also witnessed a bank robbery. Oh gee how I wished I could tell you everything

The title is Be careful what you wish for. The author is R.L. STINE. I do not like this book because Judith YELLS at Samantha. The other reason I don't like this book is Judith calls Samanth a byrd. The last reason is because Judith now wants to be like Samantha.

I just finished reading the first of a long series called The Misadventures of Bloody Jack. Or Bloody Jack. I don't know. The author has a lot of titles for it. Anyway, I loved it. I'm already reading the 2nd book. This girl just can't be good for some reason. Yes, it's a girl. To find out you should read it!It's 11 points on AR and the second is 27 points. This could help get grades up. Once you get past her way of writing and talking it's an easy read. Have fun!

Right now i am reading The Warriors Heart by Eric Greitens. The begining of the book goes right back to a flashback when eric was in the first stage of navy seal training. Eric proposes how cold the water was with stunning detail. The imagery is so great that you feel like your actually in the below zero water for days at a time.after that he goes further back in the flashback to his teen years overseas at relief efforts all over the world. That is as far as i have gotten so far and it is really good.you should read it and i will continue to read it.

As you know I have totally been digging these Laurlene McDaniel books for the past 4 months now. I just want to say thanks for getting me to read books again, books that I actually like. Anyways the book I'm reading now, obviously by Laurlene McDaniel is Till Death Do Us Part. So far a senior girl named April Lancaster was sent to the hospital for fainting in the middle of class. Her ex,Chris caught her as she fell. She was rushed to the hospital to do some testing about all the headaches she's been getting. Turns out it was a recurrence of her brain tumor from when she was a toddler. While she is staying at the hospital she meets a young boy named Mark with CF (cystic fibrosis) who really likes her. April at first showed no interest in him whatsoever until she really got to know him. Her and Chris do break up after she tells him that she has a tumor. Mark takes April out to eat,go racing and even takes her to meet his parents! Even though April's parents do not approve of her seeing Mark very well they still let her go on dates with him and spend lots of time with him. April goes through weeks of radiation and then finds out her tumor has not shrank at all to where they can cut it out of her with the gamma knife, but it is dormant. Mark eventually proposes to her after dating for 6 months and not too long after that Mark has to go back to the hospital do to a terrible accident racing and his CF being part of it. Mark and April marry on his last breathes at the hospital,he only lived to see a few seconds of his marriage.

I'm reading one of the sequels to The Face on The Milk Carton by Caroline b. Cooney. The second book is called Whatever happened to Janie. Janie Johnson or AKA Jennie Springs has just moved back in with her birth parents,Mr. and Mrs. Springs. She doesn't feel at home because she had been gone with the Johnson's for 12 whole years! She has an older brother named Stephan,an older sister named Jodi and 2 younger twin brothers named Brian and Brendan. She's adjusting to the change at her new house, new family and new school. Jennie still prefers to be called Janie because she doesn't like being called Jennie Springs at all. She left her family, the Johnsons, her best friends and her boyfriend Reeve all back in New Jersey because she was forced to go to Conneticuit with her birth family

I read Let's Get Invisible! by: R.L. STINE. His books can be a little creppy sometimes. I always like to read his books though. I like this book because they get invisible. I think it would be fun to be invisible so I can be in my brothers room and he would not know it. I would like to see his face when I was invisible.I would like to see one of my neighbors faces when I was invisible too.I think it would be fun to be invisible.

Right now I am reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. It is the second book in the series. The reason I started reading the series is because I watched the movie in theatres and was very impressed by it. I read the first book and took a break for a while and now I am reading the second book. Book two has so far not impressed me at all. All Katiness has done is make out with Gale and meet with president Snow. I think and hope that the book will have more action. I wonder if Katiness is going to go in the games again with Peeta. If they do I think Peeta will stay with Katiness the whole time and they will win again.

i finished reading The Traitor King. It is pretty cool. i love all the fairy tales with conflict. those are the BEST kinds of books for me. Darren and his older sister go to their family reunion everry year. its always at their Wierd Uncle Will's house. but this years different. Uncle Will has disappeared. But he left a note saying everythimg is to go as planned, meaning the Hunt. Its where uncle will hides these very hard clues that no person would look, but somehow Darren and his sister know exactly where to look.

On the Hunt to find Uncle Will, they encounter some "colossal" problems. (do i get candy??? ;) a dead man follows them around, the librarian in the teensy town is a witch, and they learn about their fammily's ahmeful and dark past.

but i cant give too much away, now can i???

Hey, Zach.... i laughed out loud when you said that all Katniss does is make out with Gale. Its pretty much true!
