The theme of a story is the message about life that the author wants to convey to you. It is never written out or mentioned specifically, but you "get it" after finishing the story. For instance, in Song of the Trees by Mildred Taylor you might say that the theme is the strength of family members sticking together. Another possible theme might be standing up for what's right.

Tales of a fourth grade nothing by Judy Blume and the message their trying to give is to watch the little ones and take up for his family, friends,and siblings.
My book is The Lord of the Nutcracker Men the author is Iain Lawrence he talks about corage or strength. Because he talks about the war and how is father is a brave man for going to the war and the family has strength to live with out him till Christmas and that what I think the author was trying to say.

Hello Mrs.Halterman well the theme of my book is to never give up. The reason that I picked that theme is because a girl named Lucy is trying to find her missing squirrel. After a few weeks she said to her self “I give up”. So later she finds conckers in Mr.Puckets tractor and so Mr.Pucket came up and pushed the tractor. So Lucy called David his older brother. So conckers was drowning so David got conckers out of the water and that is how far I got in this book.
I’ve been reading Black Water, Alex and Brodie are keeping a big lie from the cops and Brodie’s mom and dad. Brodie killed Pauline and he want blames himself, he really didn’t kill anyone he just didn’t save anyone, and Brodie and Alex are hiding the story from the cops and Brodie’s mom and dad. I think the author is trying to say is that to never lie it would get you in bigger trouble.
I am not done with the book and but so far I think that the author is trying to say is nothing in this world is imposable.

I am reading Harry Kitten and Tucker Mouse and it is an ok book for some readers. The theme of the story is happy because Harry and Tucker is best friends with each other and they watch out for each others back. I think the author is trying to tell us to be kind to each other and not fight. Also to watch what each other do so we can stay out of troable.
The book that I am reading now is called little house in the big woods. and its about this girl name laura and her family and they live in the woods in the middle of no where and the only way that they can eat is if their dad goes hunting and kills dear, bear, and the way he does that is he gets up early in the morning and goes and sits up traps. also their life back then was probably hard but the mom and dad try to give them the best life and laura and the other kids are thankful exspshaly because the dad gets up every morning and goes hunting so that they have food to eat and cut down logs so they stay warm.
I'v been reading kidnapped its about a girl and a boy on there way to school they walk to school every day so there where on there way to school walking down the road. then some people in a van drives past the girl and they open there van door and takes the girl and the boy runs after them then the boy gets to school fast and tells the teacher that some people in a black van kidnapped his sister. then when the boy gets home he tells his dad and he calls the cops but they never found her yet she gets away and then the people that kidnapped her found her and they ran after her and she saw a gas statoin so she put sings up so they can try to find her faster then the kidnappers cought her and took her back to there house and put her back down stairs in there bastment and thats where i got so far its been a really good book so far i cant wait till i finish it the theme is when the boy stands up for his sister and he gets to school to tell someone that his sister got kidnapped and there mom died when the girl was just a baby so all she has is her brother and dad and now she got kidnapped so i don't think she's happy i think she fells sad and scarred. she said she thinks she's going to die because her dad told her that if you see a killer are a kidnappers real face they will have to kill you cause u know who they are.

The theme of the book is do whatever you put your mind to and don't give up. Judy wanted to get famous so she entered a pet contest. She and 30 other people got their picture in the newspaper, but Judy was halfway cut out. She kept looking for ways to get her picture in the paper.
